A history of the project
The current senior/community center on Priscilla Place is a repurposed school building that is more than 100 years old.
A study of updating the current building found that it would be prohibitively expensive (on the order of $20 million in construction costs) and still not deliver all the services to our seniors and our community at large.
The design is the result of nearly 12 years of planning and outreach. Meetings with stakeholders, neighbors and the community at large were held to design a building that offers wide variety of services to our seniors and to the community at large. Its easily accessible, central location has been carefully sited and designed to fit in with the surrounding neighborhood.
